First Lady Laura Bush has marked the 84th anniversary of women's right to vote by touring a business owned by women in Lakewood.

The president's wife says ten million American women own their own businesses, providing jobs to 19 million more people. Mrs. Bush says American troops have given women in Afghanistan the right to vote, and she urged women in the audience to take advantage of their right---by voting in November.

The Lakewood facility, Design Net Engineering, provides software and other equipment for aerospace projects, including the International Space Station.

Mrs. Bush said her husband has more women working in his administration, including National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, than any administration in history.

She urged the audience to "get the word out on the president's
strong leadership on behalf of women."
