A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. University of Colorado wide receiver Jeremy Bloom has lost his bid to continue playing college football while accepting endorsements to support his professional skiing career.
C.U. officials have confirmed that the NCAA denied a request to reinstate Bloom late Monday night.
Bloom issued a statement through the school, saying he's "shocked and saddened by the NCAA's decision." C.U. compliance director Lindsey Babcock says officials are preparing an appeal, which will be heard by the Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee.
NCAA rules prevent college athletes from accepting endorsement income.
Bloom is in Chile to train with the U.S. Ski Team.
