After a mild Saturday, temperatures to finish the weekend will be MUCH colder! A system to our west pushes into SE Colorado overnight. Snow showers will be possible by early Sunday morning across the I-25 corridor with a change to rain and snow showers through the afternoon. Accumulation should be minimal as most moisture looks to be light and temperatures will warm into the upper 30s and 40s through the afternoon. The main impact will be the cold along with winds gusting up to 40 mph at times. Click on the 'Weather' tab for more...
Schools in and around Fort Carson will continue to offer support groups and special activities for students whose parents are set to return to Iraq.
At least three school districts took steps to help children cope with last year's deployment. About seven-thousand troops will be deployed to Iraq starting in October, with most expected to remain for a year.
Officials aren't sure how this deployment will be different, with recently reunited families separated again. Fort Carson's commander recently visited the districts to talk about the upcoming deployments and how children might react to them.
