Cadets Punished for Cheating

Commanders at the Air Force Academy have placed seven more cadets on probation for cheating on a test in April.

More than 200 students were questioned after many of them gave the same wrong answers. The online test covered military etiquette. Most cadets were cleared, but 63 went before an honor board.

Nineteen cadets were then found to have violated the academy's honor code. That code bars lying, cheating, stealing or tolerating those who do.

Six cadets were placed on probation and one resigned in connection with cheating allegations last month. Five cases still are pending.

Probation lasts six months. Cadets lose privileges and undergo
self-examination.
