While accumulating snow has ended for Colorado Springs and Pueblo, snow (heavy at times) will continue north and northeast of Colorado Springs. A strong north wind will also create areas of blowing and drifting snow along with reduced visibility in these areas A BLIZZARD WARNING remains in effect through tonight for Northern El Paso County northward to the Denver Metro Area. Travel is NOT advised in this area.

Police say a 23-year-old man driving a Toyota Camry drove over the center median of N. Union and continued northbound through three lanes before his vehicle struck a tree head-on.

One man is dead after a single-car crash in Colorado Springs early Sunday morning.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 23-year-old Jeremy Pierce of Colorado Springs. Alcohol is suspected as being a factor in the collison. Toxicology test are pending.

Police say the accident happened at 4700 North Union Boulevard around 1:23 a.m. Police say Pierce was driving a Toyota Camry drove over the center median of N. Union and continued northbound through three lanes before his vehicle struck a tree head-on.

Emergency responders brought the victim to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

There were no passengers in his car and no one else was injured in the crash.

@Debby, If you look closely it's a mid to late 90s model Camry, which don't have a drive-by-wire system so the accelerator would not stick. (I've got a 97). This is definitely sad. This is why I tell everyone I know not to drink and drive, as a 23 yo male I know how easy it is to get your bravado up, but sometimes it just isn't worth it.
