A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. A suspect in a triple shooting has turned himself in.
Forty-seven-year-old Marlon Smith surrendered to authorities in Gary, Indiana late Thursday afternoon.
Springs police believe Smith shot and killed his estranged wife, 52-year-old Mary Lou Smith. He's also accused of shooting and injuring two other people.
The shooting happened about 10:45 p.m. Tuesday night, in the 600 block of East Boulder Street.
