Air Force Space Command Gets New Communications, Info Chief

The Air Force has named a new communications director and chief information officer for Air Force Space Command headquarters at Peterson Air Force Base.

Brig. Gen. Ian R. Dickinson will replace Brig. Gen. David B. Warner, who is retiring July 1.

Dickinson is currently commander of the 81st Training Wing at Keesler Air Force Base, Miss. He is a 1985 graduate of the Air Force Academy.

At Air Force Space Command, Dickinson's responsibilities will include communications and information policy, the security of communications and information systems, and some satellite systems.

The Air Force Space Command operates defense satellites including the Global Positioning System, two satellite launch programs, cyber-defense systems and other programs.
