University Investigation

Four people were called to testify today before a grand jury investigating football recruiting at the University of Colorado.

Coach Barnett, athletic department employees Steve Willard and Jon Burianek, and student affairs employee Bob Maust were in Denver today. They declined to comment on what was said.

Attorney General Ken Salazar has been investigating the football program. So far he has decided against filing sexual assault charges involving nine women who say they were assaulted by football players since 1997.

But the grand jury investigation indicates there could be criminal charges filed in what has already led to sweeping changes in the recruiting program, and a scathing review of university leadership.
