Fountain police are investigating the death of a teenager, whose body was found in someone's yard this morning.
Fountain Police Chief John Morse says authorities received a call about 8:30 a-m that the body of a male was lying in a yard.
He appeared to have been shot.
Morse says the body could have been there for several hours, after neighbors told police they heard what they thought were fireworks about three a-m. Authorities say the sounds may have instead been the gunshots that killed the man.
The case is being investigated as a homicide.
Officials say the victim was 18 years old, but his name and hometown haven't been released.
Police have no suspects.
Fountain is a town of about 15-thousand residents, approximately 15 miles southeast of Colorado Springs.
