Friends and family of Sgt. Arnold Harp are remembering him. He was involved in a car accident where he and Sgt. Robert Orta were both killed. One of Sgt. Harp's best friends remembers a husband, father and soldier who will be missed.

Sgt. Arnold Harp, known as Trey to his friends, had a passion for the National Guard. Just six months ago another passion came into his life. "That's all he could think about, he loved that boy so much," said Jason Kirkland, Sgt. Harp's best friend. That's because he became a father for the first time. "He was so excited to become a dad and, ya know, he was a dad for six months and truly that was what was on his heart."

Jason talks about just how much Trey cared about the soldiers of southern Colorado. "He really had a heart for these soldiers, especially the ones that come back from Iraq and Afghanistan injured, he had a really big heart for helping these guys out," said Kirkland.

Jason says he will miss his smile, passion and positive attitude. "He truly never met a stranger. He had a big heart and he is going to be missed," said his friend.

Sgt. Harp's commander says he was also instrumental in helping soldiers transition into the National Guard. His funeral will be this Tuesday, March 23rd in Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, the Harp family has asked donations be sent to: Cognogenesis BRRAIN (Brain-injury Resource Research Advocacy and Integration Network) Center. It's a non-profit providing wide-ranging services, care, support, job training and other assistance to brain-injured soldiers and their families.
