The Roman Catholic diocese of Pueblo says they will investigate sexual abuse claims made by a California man about a former priest more than 40 years ago.

John Yengich filed a lawsuit late Wednesday against the Pueblo diocese, saying Daniel Maio sexually abused him from 1968 to 1969 while Maio was the youth director for the diocese. The lawsuit says the diocese knew Maio was abusing children.

Monsignor Mark Plewka said Thursday he has not seen the complaint and declined to comment on the particulars of the case. He said this is the first and only complaint the diocese has ever received concerning Maio.

Plewka says Maio was ordained in 1966 and left the ministry in 1974. Maio died in 2006.

Brightlight, it is not the business of a church to "counsel" people if you are talking about psychobabble. Biblical counseling is fine, but not secular psychobabble. I have no issues cesktoi, and that's my point. Life throws things your way, but get over them. Other people have it much worse. I find those whole label of the "victim," replusive. Stop living in the past, and look forward.

I'm not talking about a church. You people just don't listen very well. I said abuse one time, yes, but 50 times over a period of years, no. I don't buy in to the hysteria that everyone is a poor victim. Righteous indignation is fine, and when someone class me a sicko, I'm not going to turn the other cheek. My whole point is for people to stop playing the victim and get over it and get on with life. I did, so can anyone else. Instead of living in the past, look forward.

Objective truth, how christian of you to call someone names. Are you saying your "church" does not counsel people? IE: your comment on idiot social worker. If they are anything like your post, I certainly hope not.
