Continuing to track rain/snow showers throughout southeast Colorado this morning as wet, gloomy and cool conditions continue. If you are hitting the roads in the higher elevation (Teller/Fremont/Custer/ Monument) make sure you allow a little extra time as some roads may be a little snow covered. Wet pavement remains everywhere else. We'll see rain/snow showers continue for most of our Monday, clearing out before midnight. Head on over to the "Weather" tab for a full look at the week ahead.
The American Cancer Society says Colorado is behind the rest of the nation when it comes to battling cancer.
The organization released a statement today indicating that Colorado is lagging behind other states in five key areas.
Those include Medicaid coverage for smoking cessation treatment, tobacco excise taxes, tobacco control program funding, access to colorectal cancer screening, and preserving insurance coverage for cancer screenings.
The only area where Colorado is close to the society's minimum standard is in counseling or drug therapy, for people who are quitting smoking.
Cancer society spokesman RJ Ours says every state legislator has the power to help eradicate cancer in Colorado.
