An 18-year-old driver was killed Sunday afternoon as a result of a two-car accident on Highway 285.

According to Colorado State Patrol, Larissa Hartman, 18, of Englewood, lost control of her 1996 Honda Accord while she was driving northbound on a snow-packed portion of the highway. Her car rotated into the southbound lane near milemarker 204, and her car hit an on-coming Subaru. A third car that was headed northbound tried to stop but slid into the other cars.

Hartman was wearing her seat belt, but died as a result of her injuries. The front-passenger of the Honda was also wearing her seat belt and was taken to Swedish Hospital in Denver. The driver of the Subaru was also taken to the hospital with injuries. Two people in the third car were not injured in the crash.

CSP says that drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the accident, but it is still under investigation.
