After a nearly two-day search, Palmer Lake Police believe they have found the body of Ryan Fenton, who had been missing for several days.

The 29-year-old Palmer Lake resident's body was found two-and-a-half miles off of a main trail in a rugged part of Rampart Range, according to Palmer Lake Police.

A gun was recovered at the site, but officials still haven't determined how Fenton died.

A search and rescue party started looking for Fenton yesterday. This morning Palmer Lake Police say they had an outpouring of community support, with more than 100 volunteers showing up to help find Fenton. Palmer Lake Police Chief Kieth Moreland says they are all disappointed that Fenton was not found alive, but that the department was impressed by the number of people who came out to help.

Fenton's body was discovered at about 1:30 this afternoon, and police say that the family and friends who were helping to find him gathered at the community's town hall to share stories and talk.
