A fire that damaged four apartment units at the Berkshire Apartments Thursday afternoon, had fire crews responding late Friday night and early Saturday morning to re-extinguish the same fire. Colorado Springs Fire crews returned to the familiar scene late Friday night around 11:00pm to find smoke and flames in the same units that had burned earlier in the week.

More than 14 units responded to the Berkshire Apartments and residents were again on edge as the fire had reignited itself. Crews were able to contain the fire and extinguish is very rapidly. A new investigation to determine what reignited the fire. Fire crews will remain on scene throughout the night as a precaution. 11 News crews will continue to update you on the status of the investigation as more details are released by fire investigators.
