Colorado Springs police are looking for suspects in a home invasion where the victims were senior citizens.

Police say it happened around 11:30p.m. Thursday night at the Southpointe Apartments on Lakehurst Drive, on the southeast side of the Springs.

Officers tell us a female suspect knocked on the door, and when one of the senior residents opened the door, an armed man wearing a ski mask forced the door open ordering everyone to the floor. The armed suspect then put the gun to one of the victim's head and said he would shoot her.

Police say none of the three female victims were hurt and the suspects got away with some personal belongings.

Investigators believe the apartment was targeted because of the age of the victims. "Make sure you know who is on the other side of the door," said Lt. Howard Black of the Colorado Springs Police Department. "That's the best way to protect yourself."

The female suspect is described as 5'4" with dark blond hair.

If you know anything about this crime, contact Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.

Most home invasions are done to locations where the bad guys know there are money and/or drugs on site to grab! The 'innocent' old ladies may have been doing more than knitting in their spare time....if you know what I mean.

Anon, to wish that someone would do that "to thier parents" is just sad. Chances are, they've taken from their parents as well and have no respect for them. I have worked in the prison setting and know that inmates have NO toleration for others who prey on children or the elderly. Once caught(and they will be)justice will be served...dumb move, punks!
