The Colorado Springs Police Department is notifying the community of a sexually violent predator that has moved to the city.
Rosendo Garza is a sex offender whose past behavior has led him to be labeled a “sexually violent predator.” Garza will be on parole and is required to be registered as a sex offender.
Garza was convicted in El Paso County of Attempted Sexual Assault of a Child by one in a Position of Trust in 2001; the victim was a 12-year-old female. He's also been convicted of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender in 2007. In the state of Texas Garza was convicted of Theft, Assault, Burglary and DUI.
Garza is now living at 3333 El Paso Place #11, in Colorado Springs. He is described as being a Hispanic male, 48 years of age, 5’04” tall, 151 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Garza is one of one hundred and forty five Sexually Violent Predators registered with the Colorado Bureau of Investigations. The Colorado Springs Police Department says it "takes his presence in the community very seriously and is intent on insuring he conducts himself in a lawful manner and that our citizens remain safe and aware."
Anyone with further questions about this SVP and this Community Notification process can contact Sgt. B. Dehart of the Colorado Springs Police Department Registered Sex Offender Unit at 719-444-7540 (option 3) or Sgt. Steve Noblitt with the Colorado Springs Police Department Public Affairs Section at 719-444-7410.

You say the man has done his time and should be left alone now, and if he was dangerous he should still be in prison. I'm here to tell you that our prisons are full and they are kicking out people everyday to soon, but we have know control over that, but we do have a right to know that he is back on the street and our children MAY NOT be safe. If it was your child I'm sure you would feel differently. I'm a owner of a motel which has alot of children staying here, and is very close to a park where children play all day long.
I don't support or condone vigilantism. It seems to me as though the system that's in place advertises where these offenders are in part to warn the community but I can't help but think there are people out there that have the mind to cause these offenders harm. Knowing where they are makes it all the more easy for them to be targets of revenge and reciprocity. I wonder if there are any statistics in regard to the frequency in which people/groups find these offenders and enact there own forms of justice upon them?
Ok, he was convicted of "attempted" sexual assault of a child. He wasn't convicted of sexual assault. He was convicted of failure to register and other crimes. He has done his time now should be left alone. If he is dangerous, he shouldn't have been let out of prison.
