Two suspected burglars are in custody after prompting a school lockdown at a Colorado Springs High School Wednesday.

At 12:11 p.m. Wednesday Colorado Springs Police were called to 1868 Northview Drive regarding a possible burglary in progress. Police say two male suspects tried to kick in the door of the residence. Police say one suspect was arrested near the scene.

Police say the second suspect fled the scene on foot. He ran across the parking lot of Wasson High School, which had already been placed on lockdown. School security recognized the suspect. He was detained and taken into custody.

After securing the area, officers located a canvas bag behind the residence the suspects burglarized. Police say it contained a handgun stolen during the 1st degree burglary. All items taken by the suspects were returned to the victim.

Adults Arrested: Samuel Charity,19 and Quentin Mcintyre,18.
