Colorado Springs police have arrested a man suspected of carjacking a Yellow Cab, robbing a fast food restaurant, then stealing another car.

It all started near Fillmore and I-25 around 7 p.m. Wednesday. Fred Woodard tells 11 News, he stopped his cab to drop off a customer. When he asked for the cab fare, "He grabbed me from behind and pulled me back into the seat and poked something in back of my head and told me to empty my pockets. He said hurry up, hurry up, hurry up. You don't want this 22 to go off."

Woodard says the suspect told him to get out of his Dodge mini-van cab. "He jumped in the front seat like a horse and drove off like a mad man." That's where the crime spree began, police say.

Around 4:30 a.m. Thursday at the Carl's Jr. at 1895 S. Chelton Road, officers tell 11 News the suspect placed an order at the drive through, pointed a gun at the cashier, demanded money and took off.

Police say the suspect, 28-year-old Jonathan Gaide, and a passenger were in a cab that had been stolen the night before.

A short time after the robbery at Carl's Jr. Thursday, the cab was spotted by police at Fountain and Circle, but got away when cops tried to make a stop. According to police, the stolen cab was eventually found abandoned off Eagle Wing Drive near Woodmen and Black Forest Road. Police believe the passenger in the cab may have parted ways with the driver (Gaide) at that time.

Police say Gaide then stole another vehicle from a nearby neighborhood. The green SUV, equipped with OnStar, was tracked to the intersection of Browning and Ruskin in Colorado Springs, where police say the suspect car side-swiped another car. Sgt. Steve Noblitt tells 11 News Gaide was able to maneuver the car into a parking lot at the Mountain Country Estates at 105 S. Academy. Officers were nearby, gave chase and tased Gaide. He's been arrested with charges pending. He faces aggravated robbery, car-jacking, car theft, burglary and eluding police.

Gaide will likely now face attempted murder since he was named as the suspect in a recent liquor store stabbing and robbery. Colorado Springs Police say Gaide robbed “Bluffs Wine and Liquors” located at 3609 Austin Bluffs Parkway Tuesday night. During that robbery, the store clerk was attacked and stabbed. The blade of the knife broke off in the victim’s chest causing significant injury. The victim is expected to recover.

Sgt. Noblitt says thanks to a great effort by both El Paso County and the Colorado Springs Police Department, "a very dangerous criminal is off the streets."

The search continues for a second suspect, the passenger in the stolen cab. If you know where she is or have any more details about this crime spree, police want to hear from you. Call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.

10 years?? thats it really? attempted murder, GTA, and 2 strong hold robberies, ya more like 30 years, not very nice charges, the man should rot in a hole in the middle of a desert not sit in jail bragging about his crimes
