Colorado Springs police are investigating a stabbing that happened on the south side of town.

Officers tell us it happened around 10p.m. Wednesday night behind the King Soopers on Cheyenne Meadows Road. The victim was jogging along a trail when two men stopped him and asked for money.

Police say when he didn't give them any, they assaulted him, stabbing him twice in the torso. He was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and admitted. He is expected to fully recover from the wounds.

The suspects are described as one white and one Hispanic male, both in their 30's wearing dark clothing and caps.

The investigation is still ongoing. If you were in the area at the time of the attack, and saw anything, call police or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP. Your anonymous tip could earn you a cash reward.
