Colorado Springs police have arrested a man who they say robbed a local liquor store and stabbed the clerk in the chest Tuesday night.

Police say 28-year-old Jonathan Gaide walked into Bluffs Wine and Liquor on Austin Bluffs near North Academy around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and stabbed the clerk in the chest before grabbing the cash drawer and taking off.

Officers tell us they found the knife handle, but could not find the blade of the knife. It turned out to be in the clerk's chest. He was taken to the hospital for emergency surgery and is expected to make a full recovery.

Gaide was arrested Thursday in connection to an armed robbery of a Carls Jr. and a violent carjacking of a Yellow Cab.

If you know anything about this robbery, call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
