The University of Colorado Board of Regents has fired Professor Ward Churchill. Churchill set off a firestorm of controversy when he likened some September 11th victims to Nazi Adolph Eichman.
Churchill has said he would sue in federal court if he were fired.
The vote by regents today came after two-and-a-half years of academic investigations.
University officials have said Churchill's remarks on September 11th were protected speech under the First Amendment.
However the school launched an investigation into the tenured professor's other works.
Faculty committees accused Churchill of plagiarism, falsification and other misconduct.
