Organizations serving seniors, youth, and the homeless are among the major recipients of grants for Southern Colorado nonprofits announced this week by the Daniels Fund.

Recipients include: Boy Scouts of America, Pueblo; Colorado; Consortium for Earth and Space Science Education, Colorado Springs; Colorado Springs Child Nursery Centers; Colorado Springs Sports Corporation; CSU Pueblo High School Initiative; Community Partnership for Child Development, Colorado Springs; Huerfano County Youth Services; La Junta Associated Charities; La Puente Home, Alamosa; Senior Resource Development of Pueblo; and Pikes Peak Academy, Colorado Springs.

“During uncertain economic times, the nonprofit organizations that strengthen our communities often experience a decrease in giving while facing increasing demands for services,” explained Linda Childears, president and CEO of the Daniels Fund. “It is important for everyone to continue support for these vital organizations,” she added.

The program areas eligible for grants through the Daniels Fund include: Aging, Alcoholism & Substance Abuse, Amateur Sports, Disabilities, Education, Homeless & Disadvantaged and Youth Development.
