More bad news for MCI and its employees.
The telecommunications giant will close its Colorado Springs call center, putting 650 people out of work. It's part of the third round of layoffs this year for the company. MCI will cut a total of 2 thousand jobs nationwide.
It's still unclear when the last day at the Tiffany Plaza call center will be but the company has said it will close by August 24th.
MCI blames the national Do-Not-Call list and the economy for the closure of this call center.
The company will reportedly provide severance pay for workers and sponsor job fairs and workshops to help employees find new jobs.
