Pueblo officers recovered more than $85,000 on what initially appeared to be a routine shots-fired call.
Officers were called to the 2100 block of E. 7th St. Saturday evening after getting several calls about a man firing a gun into the air.
Police say 34-year-old Jose Bernal admitted to firing the weapon, and led officers to a nearby vehicle. While investigating, police reportedly found a little more than $85,000 in cash, a stolen shotgun, a handgun and unspecified narcotics.
Bernal was booked into the Pueblo County Jail, and will face charges of reckless endangerment, prohibited use of a weapon, theft by receiving, and drug charges. His past record includes charges of assault and menacing.
