J.K. Rowling's name has been added to a lawsuit that claims she stole ideas for her "Harry Potter" books from another British author.
The estate of the late Adrian Jacobs claims Rowling's "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," copied substantial portions of Jacobs' 1987 book, "The Adventures of Willy the Wizard -- No. 1 Livid Land."
His estate, based in Australia, also claims many other ideas from "Willy the Wizard" were copied in "Harry Potter" books.
Rowling was added to the lawsuit filed in a London court in June when the trustee of the estate learned the statute of limitations to sue hadn't run out as previously thought.
A representative of the estate estimates it will be a "billion-dollar case."
Another target of the suit, Bloomsbury Publishing PLC, said in June the allegations are "unfounded, unsubstantiated and untrue."
