Power to a large number of homes along Centennial between Vindicator and Saw Back Trail went out overnight after a single vehicle rollover accident in the area.

Police say some teens took a joy ride in one of their parents SUV. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and rolled hitting a city utilities power box. Power was knocked out to a large number of homes along Centennial.

Witnesses reported seeing two people flee the scene while one passenger was left behind. When police and emergency crews arrived, they found one passenger who had crawled from the wreckage.

Shortly after the parent of the driver returned to the scene of the crash and reported that the driver had taken the vehicle without permission.

Colorado Springs Utilities responded to the scene to work on restoring power to homes in the area.
