This year's Senate race in Colorado is shaping up to match the most expensive in history.
Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet raised $1.15 million in the fiscal quarter that ended Dec. 31. His challenger, former state House Speak Andrew Romanoff, raised $337,000.
On the Republican side, former lieutenant governor Jane Norton raised about $551,000. Republican businessman Tom Wiens told The Denver Post he raised about $725,000, but the newspaper couldn't immediately verify that sum. Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck said he raised $39,850.
The Post reported that the major candidates from both parties are on track to match the Senate candidates running in 2008.
