For 75 years, it's stretched high above and across the Arkansas River, the Royal Gorge in Canon City.
Built in 1929 and towering an amazing 1053 feet above the river, the world's highest suspension bridge still attracts visitors from around the world.
The bridge stretches a quarter of a mile across the scenic granite. It's wide enough for 2 cars to drive across it, or, if you're brave enough, you can walk across the bridge or hop onboard a trolley to get to the other side.
The Royal Gorge also has a new addition. For all adrenaline seekers, there's the Royal Rush Skycoaster. It swings out over the Royal Gorge, hanging 1,200 feet above the river.
The park is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The bridge is open from 7 a.m. to dusk. Guests who are 75 years old get in free until August 18.
