Grand Jury Hears Testimony

A statewide grand jury looking into the University of Colorado's recruiting scandal has wrapped up for the week. A recruiting aide accused of giving an escort service $2,000 cash answered questions for two hours behind closed doors at a downtown Denver courthouse.

Nathan Maxcey says he answered the questions he wanted to and didn't answer the rest. Maxcey has denied hiring escorts for players or recruits, saying any sexual liaisons were for him.

Several athletes were also seen entering the grand jury room but none would comment.

The grand jury probe is the first sign criminal charges may be filed in the scandal. Legal experts say they think investigators are trying to figure out whether university funds were misused. The grand jury also met for two-and-a-half hours on May 21st.
