A FLASH FLOOD WATCH will go into effect on Tuesday afternoon for most of Southern Colorado. Daytime heating and moisture will combine with a disturbance moving through Colorado to develop numerous thunderstorms. Any one of them will be more than capable of producing very heavy rain. Burn scars and areas that have seen recent heavy rain will be under the greatest risk for flash flooding. The 11 Breaking Weather Team will be tracking this threat all day for you.
A Colorado Springs teen lost his life while trying to help someone else.
Colorado Springs police say around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, 16-year-old Kevin Lentz was walking on North Academy Boulvard when he stopped to help a driver push a car.
Lentz was pushing the car from the rear of the vehicle when police say 18-year-old Sara Tomlinson rear-ended the stalled car, crushing him.
Lentz sustained serious internal injuries. He died on the way to Denver's Children's Hospital. The driver of the stalled car was not injured.
Tomlinson and the passenger in her car sustained minor injuries. Tomlinson is charged with careless driving involving death.
