This is the busiest time of year for some Southern Colorado non-profit organizations.

Donors are giving those last minute donations just in time to get a 2009 tax deduction.

Goodwill Industries of Colorado Springs expects to have a third of its donations this month come in during the last six days of the year.

"We're grateful for the community's support of goodwill because without that support we don't have things to sell in our stores and fund our mission," said Goodwill spokesperson Melissa Lyby.

The Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado says it's generally busier around Thanksgiving. But, the food bank does have cash donations coming in this time of year.

The Salvation Army fell short of its goal of $700,000 this year. But, they had a 6 percent increase over last year and raised nearly $654,000 in their Kettle Program.
