Police have shut down the Interstate 25 and 84th exit because of heavy police activity nearby.

Police surrounded an apartment complex in Thornton after a shooting Wednesday morning and have set up a perimeter while they search for the suspect.

The apartments are located at Delaware and 84th. Police weren't letting anyone near the shooting scene and there were several SWAT teams present.

At least one person was hurt and taken to the hospital, where they were described as having life-threatening injuries.
