It's a trip to Rome for Bishop Michael Sheridan who will be meeting with the Pope.

The leader of the Colorado Springs Catholic Diocese will head to the Vatican for a trip every bishop makes once every five years.

He will inform the Pontiff of the state of affairs within his diocese. But what will not be discussed is a recent letter he wrote to parishioners advising them against voting for politicians who support beliefs contrary to the church.

Sheridan recently gained a lot of criticism and praise for saying parishioners who vote for candidates who support issues such as abortion and stem-cell research should not take Communion.
