The family of Melissa Zavislan seeks unspecified damages from former District 70 Superintendent Stu Yager.

Pueblo County sheriff's reports show Melissa Zavislan and Yager's daughter were dancing in the back of Yager's pickup last year when Yager hit a bump that threw the girls to the pavement.

Zavislan was eleven years old at the time Yager's daughter invited her on a camping excursion.

Both girls were taken to the emergency room, and Stu Yager was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

He eventually pleaded guilty to reduced charges of felony vehicular assault and misdemeanor reckless endangerment.
