A FLASH FLOOD WATCH will go into effect on Tuesday afternoon for most of Southern Colorado. Daytime heating and moisture will combine with a disturbance moving through Colorado to develop numerous thunderstorms. Any one of them will be more than capable of producing very heavy rain. Burn scars and areas that have seen recent heavy rain will be under the greatest risk for flash flooding. The 11 Breaking Weather Team will be tracking this threat all day for you.
Fifty-seven-year-old Provost Phil DiStefano has held his position since March 2000.
Under a reorganization plan announced Friday he'll virtually take over the athletics department and its football program.
Athletic director Dick Tharp will now report to DiStefano, the chief academic officer, rather than the chancellor overseeing the entire campus.
DiStefano will now have to guide athletic policies dealing with admissions, financial aid, eligibility, progress toward graduation and academic support.
DiStefano plans to meet with Tharp Friday to talk about the reorganization.
