A young boy was suddenly in the line of fire after someone shot at his vehicle Monday night.
The suspects pulled up next to the SUV the 8-year-old was riding in and fired at the rear, striking the child in the back. The suspect vehicle then sped off.
The driver of the SUV headed straight for a nearby 7-Eleven and called for help. Paramedics took the little boy to the hospital, where he remains in serious condition and may have to have surgery.
Denver police say the incident happened at 6:30 p.m. near 6th and Knox. Officers are now looking for two Hispanic men who may have been driving a white Volvo Monday night. No other suspect information has been released.
The shooting remains under investigation.
