El Paso County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a man after they surrounded his apartment complex on the 700 block of Hathaway in the Cimarron Hills area.

Lt. Lari Sevene tells 11 News around 6 a.m., they were called out to a domestic dispute. When cops arrived, a woman apparently had choke marks around her neck.

When deputies tried to contact the suspect, they say he refused and has since barricaded himself inside his apartment. He was arrested four hours after the stand-off began.

The nearby neighbors in the building who have been evacuated are back in their homes.

The suspect has felony warrants out. Deputies say he has been known to be hostile with cops.

El Paso County Sheriff's Tactical Rescue Team arrived at 8:30am taking over the scene and began a negotiation and further secured the scene. At around 10:00am as El Paso County Sheriff Swat Teams breached the apartment the suspect snuck out of a window of a loft room and onto the roof where he tried to elude capture by jumping from the roof on the back side of the building into large shrubberies that broke his fall from nearly 30 feet.

Deputies quickly apprehended the suspect before he could make any progress on an escape. The suspect was arrested and then taken to the Crimminal Justice Center.

I agree, this is a troubled person with the blame of "life" and others? Well that is no excuse for his actions- unfortunatley I call this monster family, he is my blood and I am so ashamed and hope he stays the rest of his life behind bars. I remember when we were kids and how sweet and the best of all the kids. since his dad died, he has not nor any of them have been the same.. God bless the victims he has hurt! I can't imagine your pain!
