A contract worker has died after falling into about 20 feet of water at the bottom of a 40-foot-deep pit at the Denver airport's heating and cooling plant.
A Denver International Airport spokesman says the man fell Saturday morning.
The man is reportedly a paint inspector, but airport officials weren't certain what he was doing or how he fell.
The pit opening is about 4 feet by 8 feet.
Neither the worker's name nor the name of his employer has been released.
