A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. Early this morning, members of the Metro VNI unit and numerous members of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office to include the SWAT team, Crime Reduction Unit, Reserve units, and K-9 unit, conducted a search warrant raid at 5010 N. Ellicott Highway in eastern El Paso County.
As a result, four methamphetamine labs were found on the property, as well as a considerable quantity of methamphetamine and precursors to manufacturing.
Eight people were quickly taken into custody and one was eventually captured after a brief stand-off with law enforcement officials.
Tom Sunderman, Ray Nidlock, Brian Turett, Suzanne Brockman and Nancy White have now been charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine and Possession of Methamphetamine, a Schedule II drug.
The other four people were interviewed and released.
The home on Ellicott Highway is a well known location due to the event that occurred there on July 7, 2002.
Three people were murdered by Ronald Sunderman, the brother of Tom Sunderman. Ronald Sunderman killed himself when cornered by sheriff’s deputies attempting to arrest him for the murders.
