Cyber Monday Kicks Off The Online Holiday Shopping Season

The Monday after Thanksgiving is one of the busiest online shopping days of the year.

For those who didn't venture out to the stores at 4 or 5 a.m. on Black Friday, tomorrow is what's called Cyber Monday.

Retailers offer all sorts of deals and incentives for those who want to buy holiday gifts online and avoid the crowds and long lines at stores.

"I might take a look at what they have on sale to get an idea of what I'm going to buy in the next few weeks," said one Colorado Springs shopper.

Employers may not want to hear this, but retail experts say some employees will do their holiday shopping at work if they have internet access at the office.

Experts also say to be careful when you're shopping online.

-Shop at sites you know
-Make sure you're not signing up for other offers during checkout
-Print out web pages documenting anything you buy

It is also a good idea to use a credit card or PayPal acct (attached to a small checking/savings acct or credit card) in the event fraud takes place. You have more recourse than with a debit card. I have been shopping online for years and always use my Visa or PayPal and have never once had issues with fraud. However, I work at a bank and see fraud committed online with debit cards more often than you would think. Just sayin'. :)

Save even more money tomorrow by using online coupons. You can find a ton at http://GoPromoCodes.com. They have coupons for $5 off at Target, Sears, Kmart and Home Depot, 20% off at Old Navy and Gap and 15% at Dicks, Sports Authority and JCPenney.
