C.U. Panel Final Report

Colorado Buffaloes

Mothers of three University of Colorado football players asked Governor Owens Monday to apologize for calling the school's football recruiting scandal an embarrassment to the state.

Owens made the comment to which the mom's are referring during an interview with FOX News, February 22nd.

In an hour-long, closed door meeting, the mother's told the governor the school needs support. They also asked Governor Owens to reinstate head football coach, Gary Barnett.

The meeting was held shortly after the independent investigative commission handed its final report over to the school's regents.
They have been investigating allegations the school used sex and alcohol to recruit football players.

That report will be formally released to the public on Wednesday.

At least eight women claim to have been raped by C.U. football players or recruits since 1997.

No criminal charges have been filed.
