Terrorist Attack Warning in Denver

Former Colorado Senator Gary Hart warns Denver city council members the Mile High City could be a target for a major terrorist attack.

Hart says terrorists are just as likely to target Denver, Cleveland or Dallas as they would larger cities. He says such a strike would promote as much fear and uncertainty across the country as another attack on New York.

Hart urges local officials to tell the public whether emergency services are adequately prepared and to check on the availability of Colorado National Guard members, many now serving in Iraq.

Hart, who represented Colorado in the Senate from 1975 to 1987,
was co-chairman of the U.S. Commission on National Security/21st
Century. They predicted in early 2001 that there would be a
terrorist attack such as the one that occurred on September 11th of
that year.
