Overnight a disturbance passes through parts of S Colorado... this will bring a push of moisture falling as rain in the Plains with a few late night/early morning showers possible in Pueblo. For the Palmer Divide, N & W El Paso Co. and Teller Co. it will fall as snow... bringing a few additional inches of accumulation in mainly between 1am and 6am, lingering into the mid morning. A 77-year-old was shot during a confrontation with a man seen loitering by his car.
Police say the victim was walking from his house to his car when he spotted the stranger hanging around his vehicle. When the victim confronted the suspect, the suspect pulled out a gun. The victim didn't back down, reportedly shoving the gun away. The gun suddenly went off, striking the victim in the leg.
The suspect ran away from the scene, and the injured homeowner was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as a white man, 20 to 30 years old, 5-foot-8 and 160 pounds. He has brown hair and a beard. He was wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans at the time of the shooting. The incident happened on the 3000 block of West Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs.
