Faculty Advice

Professors at the University of Colorado are asking for an overhaul of the school's athletic department.

In a twelve page proposal approved unanimously, faculty members are calling for fewer athletic scholarships, stricter requirements for student athletes, and more oversight of the department.

Under the proposal, teams with poor academic performance and graduation rates would be restricted from post-season play and a player's academic performance would factor into coach's evaluations.

The school's president and athletic director say they'll consider the suggestions.
