Pueblo Chemical Depot Weapons Destruction

Colorado's congressional delegation has won a major victory in its effort to reinstate funding for an accelerated weapons destruction program at the Pueblo Chemical Depot.

On Saturday, Senator Wayne Allard announced that the Senate Armed
Services Committee voted to restore $147 million to the fiscal 2005 budget for Pueblo. In order for it to come to fruition, the House Armed Services and Appropriations committees will also have to approve the measure.

Former Congressman Ray Kogovsek is optimistic that support from
Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell and Representative Joel Hefley will
help get the funding approved. Kogovsek is Pueblo County's lobbyist.
