The Triple-A travel company is trying to get over an embarrassing mistake in a new guidebook.
The cover of the 2004 Utah and Colorado guidebook features a photo of Cathedral Rock near Sedona, Arizona. The Utah-Colorado book was supposed to feature a shot of the Monument Valley in southern Utah.
To make things worse, Triple-A published a nearly identical photo on the cover of the Arizona-New Mexico guidebook. Officials say about 500,000 copies of the Colorado-Utah book had been sent out before the mistake was caught. The cover of the replacement guide features a photo taken in Mesa Verde National Park.
Triple-A officials are blaming the mistake on a Washington state photo agency that provided the pictures. But officials at that company are declining to comment until they figure out just what happened.
