A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. Lawmakers opposed the increases because under the Taxpayers'
Bill of Rights, the state cannot afford to increase revenue next
year without making cuts somewhere else.
Department executive director Russ George delivered a letter
yesterday to state lawmakers that said there would be no fee
increase after all. It was signed by Parks Director Lyle Laverty.
