A flurry of calls came into Colorado Springs Police Dispatch reporting a possible shooting in front of Palmer High School located at 301 North Nevada Avenue Saturday night. Officers were unable to find any evidence of any disturbance at that location.

Within minutes officers found a scene in the intersection of Verde Drive and South Chelton Road.

It was discovered that two groups of people in two separate cars had a verbal confrontation that escalated with bottles being thrown at one of the vehicles.

Both vehicles stopped in the intersection and while people were exiting the vehicles, shots were fired and one victim was shot in the lower leg. The victim was reportedly taken to Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
