A man and a woman were killed and two Westminster police officers were hurt in a shootout after a chase on Thursday.

The crime scene near 120th and Federal showed dozens of bullet holes in a white vehicle that apparently belonged to the two suspects, who apparently tried to rob a bank.

One officer was taken to St. Anthony's Central Hospital but didn't appear to have life threatening injuries. It wasn't clear how the other officer got hurt but that person didn't go to the hospital.

Police said at 1:30 p.m. that the male suspect was killed. The female suspect was hospitalized at St. Anthony's Central Hospital where she later died.

Officers closed the intersection at noon and were expected to be investigating the scene for several hours.
